My name is C. Monrose-Forde. I have been a lifelong Learner of Biology - in varied disciplines - as a student, teacher, student, teacher and am currently a student.
I know that students waste an inordinate amount of time searching on the web looking for answers to their biology discussion questions. The answers they get are shallow, incomplete and efforts to piece together the information together sometimes results in error. Really? I believe that diligent high school biology students deserve better. When I taught high school biology - and human and social biology - I wanted to create a resource for my students that would require them to research the answers, yet not spoon-feed them and repeat myself over and over. That's how brilliantbiologystudent.com was born. The journey of life-long learning - especially about the science of life - is to be enjoyed. Learn, laugh and live! I know I did. When I think back I am grateful for all the inspiring - and not so inspiring - teachers. The inspiring teachers made me want to try harder. The not-so-inspiring made me study harder. The nuggets of knowledge that my Dad - a Science teacher - and my Mom - an Advanced Practice Nurse - shared in our day-to-day conversations made me shine in class. The academic excellence of siblings too, made me me confident about achieving success. Truly 'the lines have fallen to me in pleasant places' (Psalm 16:6). Brilliant Biology Student is a small way to give back. This site is useful for students, teachers and parents. Feel free to comment on the content of the pages, ask questions and provide your own answers. If you wish to contribute content that will appear in the body of the page and not just in the discussions, do not hesitate to contact me using the form to the right. I will give you full credit, once you provide the information you want displayed. |
