Life & Classification
Classification makes it easier to study living organisms. We classify on the basis of similarities and differences in morphology and molecular composition . Carl Linnaeus proposed the The Natural System of Classification which has served as the traditional system of classification.

Cell Structure & Organization
The Cell Theory states that 1. All living organisms are made up of cells; 2. The cell is the smallest structural and functional unit of all living organisms; 3. and all cells arise out from pre-existing cells. Each cell has smaller structures called organelles which vary in number, size and types between different types of cells.

Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their own food, using carbon dioxide and water as raw materials, in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll, to make glucose and oxygen.Photosynthesis is necessary for life on earth, for this is the means through which energy enters into food chains.

Enzymes
Enzymes are biological catalysts. A catalyst is a substance which speeds the rate of reaction but remains unchanged in the reaction. Catalysts reduce the activation energy needed for a reaction. Enzymes are proteins and occur naturally in living biological systems, acting in many metabolic pathways

Food Tests
A Food Test is a chemical test which determines the presence of nutrients/biological molecules commonly found in food. These biological molecules include sugars - reducing and non-reducing, starch, protein and lipids. Food tests use reagents which react predictably with the biological molecules to give observable color changes.
